Amayo

Dark hair grown out to a considerable length falls loose around Amayo, with a fringe settling across her brow. Her eyes are a warm brown. For accessories she favours a strand of white beads at the throat and a small pink stud in either ear, while her outfit is a sleeveless dress in a soft shade of green.

Devotion to her son defines Amayo, and keeping Hikaru out of harm's way is her constant priority. She holds nothing but contempt for anyone convinced that wealth can purchase contentment, a belief strong enough that she once struck Michiru across the face over it. Those who knew her, including Kakeru Tsuki, regarded her as a grounded and reasonable woman.

The union between Amayo and Michiru began three years ahead of Kakeru Tsuki's death, after she bore him a son. Michiru's temperament soon drove the couple apart, and the terms she had agreed to on their wedding day stripped her of the right to raise the boy herself.

When Hikaru comes back from travelling the world, Amayo welcomes him warmly, though she barely knows her former husband beneath the weight he has put on. Their reunion collapses into a quarrel as she insists that something outweighs money entirely; his attempt to smooth things over with expensive gifts only deepens her anger. The lesson lands elsewhere, for as Ishidate falls in defeat, Michiru grasps at last that shielding the people one loves is what truly counts.
