Serving Shiki was never her wish; she did it only to keep her family and fellow villagers safe. She also has no patience for lechery, kicking Brook when he asked whether he might glimpse her underwear.
History
The feathers on Ever's elbows let her fly or glide. In the film she was made to work as a waitress aboard Merveille, Shiki's floating fortress, attending the pirate guests he had invited and becoming separated from her family in the process. She lashed out at Brook in comic fashion over his crude request. Once Shiki was beaten, she found her family again and took to the air, escaping the collapsing islands to safety.
