Charm Buster is the signature strike of Mimete, a member of the Death Busters, and it turns up across the manga, the 90s anime, Crystal, and the stage shows. In the manga she first lets it fly during Act 29, aiming it at the Venus Wink Chain Sword carried by Sailor Venus.
Mechanics
Mimete channels the technique through her staff. In the animated version she looses a spray of purple star-shaped projectiles that inflict harmful effects on whoever they strike, dropping ordinary bystanders outright. Crystal presents it much the same way, with Mimete hurling potent bolts of energy from that same staff.
Notable Users
Mimete is the lone wielder of Charm Buster. In the anime she debuts it in episode 114 and later uses it to take down both Sailor Venus and Sailor Mercury during episode 120. On stage the attack first surfaced in Mugen Gakuen - Mistress Labyrinth, where it knocked Usagi and Minako off their feet. The Cloverway English dub renamed the move Stage Fright, though the Viz dub kept its original title.
