Kinmoku Fusion Tempest

This power belongs to Sailor Kakyuu and takes the form of a swirl of flowers rather than a blast of energy. Its purpose changes with the medium: a defensive barrier in the printed and animated stories, but a weapon on stage. The name itself points to the osmanthus, the flower that fills the tempest.

The technique sends up a whirl of osmanthus olive blossoms, much like Sailor Jupiter's Flower Hurricane, but in the manga and Crystal it guards rather than harms. Kakyuu raises the bloom-filled tempest to intercept an incoming attack. The musicals flip that purpose, turning the same flurry of flowers into a strike aimed at an enemy. The name draws on the flower itself, its Japanese characters reading roughly as osmanthus blossoms scattering by the hundred.

Sailor Kakyuu is the sole user of the technique. In the manga she calls on it once, in Act 57, to blunt Sailor Phi's Galactica Plants Blizzard, and Sailor Moon Cosmos carries that scene into animation. On stage, in her Princess Kakyuu form, she instead turns it against Sailor Galaxia, first in The Advent of Princess Kakyuu and again in Le Mouvement Final.
