Space Sword Blaster

This attack draws on wind and solar-wind energy, always channeled through the Space Sword that Sailor Uranus carries. The blade itself is modeled on the Kusanagi, one of the Three Sacred Treasures of Japan, a weapon of legend said to command the wind, which happens to be Uranus' own ruling element. Fittingly, the technique is thought to take inspiration from the actual solar wind, the searing stream of charged particles that races outward from the Sun.

In the manga the move first appears when Uranus uses it to break into Mugen Academy in the original run and to strike down Viluy in the reprint. There the blade lengthens and fills with glowing energy, letting her cut down a foe up close, and when forcing the entrance she instead hurled that gathered energy at the vines barring her way. The anime introduces it in Sailor Moon SuperS: The Movie against Orangeat and Poupelin, where the glowing blade, once swung, releases a wave of energy strong enough to sweep several enemies at once, as episode 169 later shows. The Crystal version has her lift the sword to conjure a single ringed orange orb, then lower it so the one orb splits into many that arc into a crescent and rain down on numerous targets.

Sailor Uranus is the lone wielder. The technique also carries into her games: in the SuperS title she slashes the air to fling a wave of energy, and in Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon: Another Story it is one of her two moves alongside World Shaking, striking a single enemy for four EP with a flash loosed from her swinging blade.
