Lilith of Darkness

Widely branded a witch, Lilith bristles at the label even as she wields tarot, incantations, and a magic staff. She casts herself as a redeemer figure, longing to be called The Mother and to reign over a world of equality much as the Virgin Mary is revered. Her creed, drawn from Jewish legend, holds that woman and man were shaped as equals, and it is this conviction that drives every scheme she sets in motion.

Lilith channels power through chants, a ritual staff, and tarot spreads, calling up the demonic force of Samael and pouring it into the Samael Quartet. She keeps the energy of Death Vulcan, whom she treats as her master, flowing into the body of Astarte. During the Hungarian chapter she conjures Sailor Moon to her side by sorcery, and on the night of a full moon she snares several guardians inside a magic square. Reversing the Tree of Life, she attempts to unseal the gateway to death itself.

Said to be thousands of years old and alive since humanity's dawn, Lilith was formed from the same earth as Adam. Refusing to submit to him as a wife, she was condemned to bear a hundred infants each day and watch them perish, a torment that unhinged her. She sought to drown herself in the Red Sea but was rescued by the fallen angel Lucifer, and their union produced the first demons.

Determined to overthrow the divine order, she gathers vampires, werewolves, and the Samael Quartet, though the vampire chief Bloody Dracul Vampir never fully trusts her. To seize the Silver Crystal she dispatches Elizabeth Bathory to Japan under the guise of an English teacher. Lilith finally confronts Sailor Moon at Count Dracul's mansion and later orders the Samael Quartet to seize Chibiusa, only for Tuxedo Mask to intervene.

Her spells are repeatedly undone by Sailor Astarte, who spends the last of her strength to free the trapped guardians. The final reckoning comes at the Temple of Dark Cain in the Promised Land, where her contradictory motives expose that Cain, the first murderer, has been steering her. After the reversed Tree of Life lets the fallen soldiers return to fight, Sailor Moon rebukes Cain and cleanses Lilith with Moon Princess Halation, judging her merely misunderstood.
