Manegin's name puns on the Japanese rendering of the word mannequin. On stage she does not show her true self at first, instead assuming the guise of the teacher Haruna Sakurada to slip in among the guardians.

She works through deception rather than brute force, posing as a familiar face and inviting the girls to join her on a getaway. The scheme only comes apart because Rei senses something wicked about her. She also commands a band of lesser youma she refers to as her Manegin Gundan.
