Appearance

On her own, Otakura is a formless spirit with no fixed body. Once she seizes Hotaru, she manifests as a woman draped in a flowing black gown with frilled straps, her long dark hair falling loose. Peacock plumes decorate the gown at the hip and crown her head, and she keeps a spray of the same feathers in hand, fanning them out for effect.

History

The spirit made her home in the storehouse standing behind an old pawn shop. When the land sharks grew tired of waiting on an unpaid debt, they moved to demolish the building. As the trucks bore down, Naruru Osaka and Ruruna Kobe stood directly in the way until Makoto Hanmatsuura shoved them clear. One vehicle struck the shop while another slammed into the storehouse, releasing the spirit, who seized Hotaru and named herself guardian of the warehouse. When Naruru and Ruruna turned up dressed as Sailor Guardians, Usagi and Chibiusa transformed for real, and the annoyed Otakura visited punishment on them and Makoto. In their Eternal forms, Sailor Moon and Sailor Chibi Moon then finished her off with the Starlight Honeymoon Double Therapy Kiss, freeing Hotaru, who remembered nothing of the ordeal.
