Introduced in the fifteenth episode of Sailor Moon S, Tamasaburou is a master of the tea ceremony who becomes one of Eudial's victims before Chibiusa steps in to help. When Chibiusa and Usagi return to the temple the following day, the same spot where the Pure Heart Crystal was nearly stolen, Tamasaburou appears at the door decked out as a Sailor Guardian and cheerfully going by Sailor Tamasaburou. Across the Cloverway English, German, and Polish releases the character was rewritten as female, a change fans credit to the crossdressing scene and the overall feminine design, even though the name kept the kanji 郎, meaning son; the Italian dub left the male gender intact.
