To Save Our Friends: Moon and Uranus Join Forces

When Kaolinite captures and seemingly kills Sailor Neptune, Sailor Moon and Uranus wind up chained to each other, made to reconsider how they regard their reluctant ally.

Haruka wins a motocross race but is confronted by rivals who insist women have no place on the track, prompting Mamoru to step in before the runner-up Yamada defuses things. Michiru senses Yamada may hold a pure heart and keeps watch. Later Usagi misses her bus, accepts a lift from Haruka, and the two shake off reckless pursuers in the woods. Kaolinite plants a Daimon egg in Yamada's bike, draws out his pure crystal, and lies in wait for Neptune, who confirms the heart is no talisman before a duplicating Tire Daimon binds her to a tree.

Sailor Moon secretly transforms and cuts Neptune loose, declaring she takes no side but will not forgive dirty tricks. Kaolinite cuffs Sailor Moon and Uranus together, then throws Neptune off a cliff into a waterfall. Sheltering in a cave, Uranus explains the pact she and Neptune made to press on toward the talismans even at the cost of a life, and Sailor Moon quietly tends to Uranus's wound, softening her rival's opinion of her. Working in sync, they sever the chain, drive off Kaolinite, and destroy the Tire Daimons, after which Uranus admits she now respects Sailor Moon and credits her for saving Neptune.

In the Korean dub, every frontal shot of the Daimon Taiyan was cut for its nearly nude design, and the footage of Sailor Neptune held prisoner by Kaolinite was trimmed too. The episode is notable for thawing the wary rivalry between Sailor Moon and the outer guardians, a change Uranus openly acknowledges by its close.
