Flower Brooch

Featured in the third episode of the anime, this brooch was a tool of Jadeite's, disguised as a harmless present. Behind its innocent look sat a single grim purpose: to draw the energy out of whoever chose to wear it.

The scheme ran through a late-night radio program. Having taken over the FM No. 10 station to host his Midnight Zero show, Jadeite read listeners' love letters on air, and any girl whose letter made the broadcast was mailed a brooch as a reward. Worn as intended, the ornament steadily drained its owner's energy, which is why Usagi later warned people how dangerous the items truly were.

Jadeite is the only one to use it, marking the first time a specific object was built to steal energy, though Nephrite would lean on similar items throughout much of his own run. Haruna Sakurada and Naru Osaka were among the recipients, and Usagi lost energy as well while trying to rouse Naru. Once she uncovered the plot, Usagi slipped into the station disguised as staff and broadcast a warning against wearing the brooches, which were likely wiped out when Sailor Moon defeated Furau.
