Act 16 Abduction - Sailor Mercury -

With Sailor Mars gone, the enemy turns its attention to Ami Mizuno. Berthier of the Spectre Sisters confronts Sailor Mercury directly, dragging the guardians deeper into the Black Moon's hunt for the child they call the Rabbit. Naoko Takeuchi wrote and illustrated the chapter, the third of the Black Moon arc.

Distraught over Mars vanishing, Sailor Moon breaks down before reverting to Usagi and rounding on Chibiusa, certain the girl is in league with their foes. As Chibiusa flees, Usagi glimpses a key on a chain around her neck that seems to hold the Silver Crystal. Staying at Mamoru's place, Chibiusa dreams of a vast city turned to crystal and weeps for her missing parents, admitting she has come seeking Sailor Moon's aid. The remaining guardians debate the enemy's identity and how to free Mars.

Inside the Black Moon's stronghold, the Droids are shown to spring from an Evil Black Crystal, and on their master's counsel the clan keeps the captured Mars alive. Berthier steps forward for the next phase. She deduces Mercury's identity when Ami spots a fault in an underground pipe without any instruments, then invites her to a chess match where the two meet in person. Revealing herself, Berthier admits she too is chasing the Rabbit.

The guardians transform and fend off Droids disguised as ordinary people, with Mercury blanketing the area in dense fog. Berthier gathers the sewer water and seals Mercury inside a sphere of liquid, turning the guardian's own element against her. Sailor Moon shatters Berthier with Moon Princess Halation, yet the watery cell holds firm, and Rubeus descends to spirit Mercury away aboard a UFO.

The chapter introduces the Mercury Star Power Make Up and Jupiter Star Power Make Up transformation calls alongside the Sparkling Wide Pressure and Shine Snow Illusion attacks. It continues the Black Moon's methodical capture of the inner guardians, following Mars with Mercury.
