Steady under pressure, Atou barely changed expression even as the exam collapsed into carnage around her. Her quick thinking turned a downed plane into a second stage of the test, and she carried clear pride in her standing as a professional assassin, shrugging off heavy losses with the remark that only a handful of candidates ever pass anyway.

As part of the JCC's examining faculty, Atou was a seasoned killer who held her nerve through the disorder that Kanaguri and Gaku unleashed. She ranked among the stronger examiners on hand, notably the only one to land a clean wound on Shinaya while Gaku puppeteered him, a feat that spoke to real speed given how sharply Shinaya had just reacted to a sniper's shot. She fought with a spread of knives, favoring an unusual weapon she called her rope of blades: a single cord threaded through more than a dozen edges, among them a gravity knife, a kunai, a shuriken, a hook blade, and a machete. Her run ended when the controlled Shinaya hurled her across a lake and into a rock.
