Summary

A hungry, hopelessly naive marksman named Heisuke Mashimo enters the picture, rarely far from his pet bird Piisuke. Broke and discouraged by how little killing pays, he sets his sights on Taro Sakamoto, with no clue that his target is now a heavyset neighborhood shopkeeper. Sakamoto easily fools him into keeping his old identity a secret.

Wanting to cover the repair bills left by earlier attacks on the store, Sakamoto and his crew sign up for a survival game contest offering a million-yen purse. Heisuke, lured by the same reward, ends up on their squad without realizing he has joined the very man he came to eliminate.

On another front, Sakamoto slips into Dondenkai to trace who ordered the bounty, only to find the group already wiped out by an enigmatic figure marked with an X. ORDER stirs as well, and the tightening net leaves him uneasy.
