Chapter 119: Goodbye

Reeling from Kindaka's sacrifice, Uzuki turns on Akao when she asks whether he let the antidote fall on purpose. He lashes out and screams at her to keep her distance until Nagumo and Sakamoto pull him off, after which he bolts. Akao lays out the truth, tells the others to carry the Amo pair and Kindaka to safety, and sets off alone after Uzuki. Nagumo hands her his pistol, she passes her cigarettes to Sakamoto, and that exchange becomes the last time Sakamoto ever speaks with her.

Three days after the pair disappear, Sakamoto and Nagumo sit down with Yotsumura, who claims no leads and notes there is no firm evidence that Uzuki killed Kindaka. His suspicion of Akao nearly earns him a punch from Sakamoto before Hyo steps between them. Yotsumura brings the two into the Order and tells them to track Uzuki down and build a case, explaining only that he needs extra hands. Roughly a year later, Nagumo reports that he has found Uzuki, and when Sakamoto arrives he finds Akao lying motionless on the ground. Uzuki tells him she is dead by his own hand, leaving Sakamoto devastated.

Uzuki attacks Akao and then flees in the wake of Kindaka's death. Akao gives chase alone, sharing a final goodbye with Sakamoto. Yotsumura recruits Sakamoto and Nagumo into the Order to hunt Uzuki. A year on, Uzuki reveals that he has killed Akao.

Titled Wakare, the nineteen-page chapter closes this stretch of Taro Sakamoto's Past Arc in Volume 14. Uzuki and Kindaka appear on the cover. It first published in the twenty-fifth 2023 issue and folds the Order into Sakamoto and Nagumo's history.
