Chapter 163

Four of X's unnamed operatives huddle in a men's restroom, uneasy that no orders have come from Haruma. One hears muttering from a stall and, fearing a JAA eavesdropper, fires into it and peers through the bullet hole. Fingers slip out, pin his nose to the door, and with a single click his head and the surrounding stalls are cut cleanly apart. Takamura steps out, drops two more spies who try to fight, and strolls past the last, who cowers by the sink.

Back in the vault, the Rion side of Uzuki no longer believes she can hold the body and asks to be killed. Nagumo sides with Sakamoto, neither willing to end their newly reunited friend, and Sakamoto insists that as long as Rion stays in control no one has to die, though Uzuki taking over would seal his fate. Sensing the main personality about to surface, Rion privately weighs an unspoken thought and reaffirms her wish to keep control.

Before Nagumo can suggest she simply hold on, an emergency JAA broadcast labels the three of them Special Class-A extermination targets, wanted for conspiracy and to be killed on sight. Shin, Osaragi, Amane, and Shishiba all react with confusion when they learn Asaki issued the order, treating the escape as a threat. In the same moment Uzuki's dominant self returns, and the chapter ends with Takamura cutting through the glass ceiling to land among the trio, his purpose unclear.

Takamura wipes out most of a cell of X's spies inside a restroom with a single unseen cut. In the vault, Rion-Uzuki pleads for death while Sakamoto and Nagumo refuse to kill their reunited friend. Asaki brands the trio Special Class-A extermination targets over the airwaves, stunning Shin, Osaragi, Amane, and Shishiba. Uzuki's main personality reemerges just as Takamura slices through the ceiling and lands among them.

Titled Misfortune, this is the one hundred and sixty-third chapter of Sakamoto Days and part of the Assassin Exhibition of the Century Arc. It ran in the twenty-first 2024 issue on April 22, 2024, and spans nineteen pages within Volume 19. The cover depicts unnamed X workers. Haruma is referenced, and the chapter converges Takamura, the vault trio, and the wider cast around Asaki's extermination order.
