Chapter 81: Test

Hunting for the so-called Akashic records at Japan Clear Creation, Shin finds the library deserted and moves to slip inside, only to be caught by the instructor Satoda. To his surprise she is familiar with the database, and once Akira presses her, she describes it as an urban legend that could lay bare the school's files. Shin confesses their real target: any record on the assassin-killer Slur.

Satoda urges them to drop the search, unwilling to see her students die over it. When Shin lashes out in frustration, she parries with ease, her skill so far beyond him that he can barely keep pace. Even so, she offers to pass on techniques that might serve them in the fight ahead.

Recovering in the infirmary, Shin and Akira bring the encounter to Sakamoto, but rather than lend a hand he hurries off. The pair resolve to challenge Satoda a second time and are beaten again. Seba then turns up unannounced, having caught their whole exchange, and volunteers to help.

Shin openly reveals that the group's aim at the school is to recover records on Slur, framing the larger infiltration. Satoda twice outclasses Shin and Akira yet offers to train them, and Seba commits to joining the effort after overhearing their plans in the infirmary.

Known in Japanese simply as Tesuto, this eighty-first chapter falls within the JCC Infiltration Arc and Volume 10. It was published in the thirty-fifth 2022 issue with an early-August release. Satoda, Shin, Akira Akao, Taro Sakamoto, and Seba all feature, with Nagumo and Rion Akao appearing in flashback.
