Chapter 82: Aikido Love

Shin charges Satoda once more in hopes of reaching the database, and the instructor idly wonders whether she should start taking the pair seriously. As he and Akira move in, she simply turns her back. Seba trips Shin with an outstretched leg, warning that rushing Satoda head-on is pointless, then explains her discipline: an aikido style that turns an attacker's own force back against them.

Asked why he stepped in, Seba recounts a phone call from Mafuyu during which he could hear Uzuki's men in the background. The scene shifts to Mafuyu and Toramaru held prisoner in Slur's lair, where Toramaru notes that the man he calls Mr. Nice Deer, Kashima, patched up his wounds. Their attempt to flee stumbles when they trip over a captor, and Kashima runs them down. Mid-escape Mafuyu treads on a cockroach without finishing it, recoiling in disgust; Kashima crushes the insect fully and remarks that a killer should show mercy by making the kill clean.

With a press of a button he sets off a blast, revealing that both captives carry a rice-grain-sized bomb inside them. Toramaru, oddly taken with Uzuki, drifts toward admiration for their captor. Seba explains that a silent call from Mafuyu is a known distress signal, and that reaching the database is now the only way to find the two. Since beating Satoda is the sole route in, Seba declares himself an ace weapon maker and says that is how they will get past her.

The chapter establishes that Satoda relies on aikido, reframing why brute assaults on her keep failing and forcing the group to find another way. A flashback exposes Mafuyu and Toramaru as prisoners of Slur's organization, each implanted with a tiny bomb by Kashima. Seba's claim of being an ace weapon maker sets up the plan to overcome Satoda.

The Japanese title Ai Kido puns on the martial art at its center. This eighty-second chapter sits in the JCC Infiltration Arc and Volume 10, released across the combined thirty-sixth and thirty-seventh 2022 issue in early August. Shin, Akira Akao, Seba, and Satoda appear in the present, while Mafuyu, Toramaru, Gaku, Uzuki, and Kashima feature in flashback.
