Absolute Being

Towering far above any ordinary figure, this god kept his feet bare at all times. His complexion was a bloodless white, his eyes a hollow yellow that held no expression, and silver strands of hair fell to great length. For garments he favored robes of silver, plating in a soft brown tone, and a brown headpiece that rose high above him.

Coldness defined him. He treated the beings he made as nothing more than playthings staged for his amusement, taking no real interest in their suffering. His arrogance bred carelessness too. It never crossed his mind that the Rulers might one day rise against him, and the only precaution he ever set in place was a hidden fail-safe buried within Ashborn, a measure that came to nothing when the moment arrived.

Before time began, when reality held only brilliance and shadow, this god divided the light to form the Rulers and the dark to form the Monarchs. One faction was made to ruin the world and the other to defend it, so conflict between them erupted almost at once. The fighting dragged on across countless ages without resolution.

Weary of slaughter, the Rulers finally begged their creator for the power to finish the Monarchs and end the carnage. He answered with silence. That refusal exposed the truth: their endless war had only ever been a spectacle for him, and he had no desire to see it conclude. Realizing the bloodshed would never stop while he lived, seven of the eight Rulers turned traitor. Only Ashborn stayed faithful and moved to defend the throne, but the rebels overcame him with ease and left him broken. They then stormed the chamber and ran the god through with their spears. Long afterward, having risen anew as the Shadow Monarch, Ashborn returned to find the corpse still seated, the spears still jutting from it. Eons later, in the events of Ragnarok, the god's death was noticed at last by his kin, the Itarim, who descended on the human world to claim his creations and were met in battle by Sung Jinwoo and the seven Rulers.
