A young man with long black hair left in a messy tangle, Kumamoto has sharp facial features. The lower half of his face stays hidden behind a white surgical mask, while a white eyepatch rests over his left eye. The moment his berserk state kicks in, his eyes take on a faint red glow.

Cowardice defines him; Kumamoto cracks under the slightest pressure, unraveling even with the upper hand and no danger in sight. His fighting style mirrors that timidity. He picks out the feeblest target he can find and frequently attacks it from behind.

With four days left before the fourth Jeju Island Raid, Kumamoto met up at the Korean Hunters' Gym alongside his fellow Jeju Island Raid Party members. He entered the four-on-four sparring between the squads, beginning against Baek Yoonho before turning his attention onto Cha Hae-In. As he grew carried away with her, Jinwoo intervened to shield her and brought Kumamoto down when he would not yield. Through the raid proper he served on Team Bravo together with Kanae, and he was last seen leaving the island afterward beside Kanae and Hoshino.

His combat record earned recognition. Goto Ryuji had marked his talent, and Kumamoto rated as a strong S-Rank said to clear B-Rank gates unaided. His strength was enough to drive a wide hole through the gym floor, and his speed matched Baek through their bout while outrunning Cha, who would have eaten a hit had Jinwoo not blocked it. Durability backed him up too: an accidental barrage of fourteen punches from Cha left only a slight nosebleed. His most singular trait is a berserker state triggered by serious injury, throwing him into a wild, fearless assault with no restraint, though whether it traces to a passive skill, an underlying mental illness, or a defense mechanism stays unclear.
