Appearance

Heavy muscle and clear age defined Sillad, an ice elf set apart by blue skin and long silver hair, a lone strand of it trailing past his face on the right. Rounded ears flanked a pair of blank white eyes. His wardrobe ran to ruin: a frayed white cloak collared in black, worn over a torn white shirt, with ragged black trousers and matching boots below.

Personality

Smug and condescending, Sillad shunned long-shot gambles and disliked outpacing his own schemes. A trace of contempt for pointless bloodshed surfaced when he simply knocked the humans on Jeju Island unconscious with his power instead of taking time to butcher them. Pit him against someone stronger, though, and that poise crumbled into nerves and recklessness. His impatient push for the other Monarchs to slay the Shadow Monarch without waiting on Antares was precisely the sort of rash gamble that finished him.

History

With the S-Rank Gate on Jeju Island finally cleared, Sillad caught the Shadow Monarch's residual power lingering over the island and went there to be sure. Along the way he met Rakan, who had likewise locked onto Ashborn's trail, and the two agreed it was time to reopen their war with the Rulers. Hunting Rulers across America afterward, Sillad encountered Yogumunt and heard that one had surfaced in Korea, but before either could depart, Sung Il-Hwan ambushed the pair and failed in his attempt to kill them both.

Some time later, in Korea, Sillad hunted out Go Gunhee, a man who served as one of the seven vessels of the Rulers, and slew him inside his own office. He meant to slip back to the chaos world, but Sung Jinwoo struck first, having come home through Shadow Exchange. Sensing genuine peril once he realized Jinwoo was Ashborn's vessel, Sillad raised a wall of ice, loosed a spear toward Gunhee, and bought the moment he needed to tear open a portal and escape. Aware that only Antares could match the Shadow Monarch, he gathered the Monarchs and pressed them to kill Jinwoo before he reached full power. Tarnak and Yogumunt balked in fear, while Rakan and Querehsha, convinced Jinwoo was still weak, signed on for the strike.

Days afterward, when Rakan rampaged through Seoul and lured Jinwoo into the open, Sillad and Querehsha joined in, the three assaulting him together. Querehsha fell in the fighting, yet Sillad drove Jinwoo to his absolute limit with Spiritual Body Manifestation, holding his attention long enough for Rakan to punch his claws clean through Jinwoo's chest from behind. Then Jinwoo's black heart resumed its beat. As the genuine Shadow Monarch stirred awake, the two panicking Monarchs moved to finish the job, only for Il-Hwan to cut in and boot Rakan into Sillad, hurling both through several buildings. Il-Hwan stalled them long enough for Rakan to accept that they had failed and bolt, leaving Sillad to carry on by himself.

Standing his ground regardless, Sillad called up a massive ice storm that took Il-Hwan's left arm clean away, then formed an enormous meteor of ice to crash onto the city. Beru shattered it with a single strike just as Jinwoo rose again, gifted the Shadow Monarch's true might by Ashborn. Still denying defeat, Sillad flung his trident and lashed out with ice, but the chasm in power was absolute. Jinwoo crushed the trident one-handed, shrugged off the rest, and cut him across the chest. Howling in furious disbelief, Sillad watched his vessel give way, his body dissolving into shards of light, which avenged Gunhee and closed out the Monarchs' assault on Seoul.

Counted among the nine Monarchs as King of Snow Folk, Sillad wielded overwhelming power on many fronts. His immense strength let him trade blows with Go Gunhee while restrained and grind Jinwoo down through sheer force, while his immense speed slipped past Gunhee's attacks and harried Jinwoo in their rematch. He carried immense durability and eons of combat mastery across every discipline of fighting. A snap of his fingers could lull ordinary humans to sleep, and a flick of the wrist tore open blue gates to other worlds. His ice breath belched freezing torrents but failed if his mouth was sealed first, and his ice magic conjured towering waves, weapons, ice beasts, and vast storms. He could likewise fire swift, explosive energy blasts of icy blue from his hands. Through Spiritual Body Manifestation he took a younger shape with longer, flame-like hair and more elven ears, shedding most of his clothes for only black pants and boots.
