Yoo Soohyun

Striking and polished, Soohyun has wide brown eyes and long, glossy brown hair in her early appearances, with carefully kept nails. As the story moves forward she switches her look entirely, dyeing the hair a soft purple and adjusting her eye color to suit it. Her modeling career puts her in fashionable, costly outfits, yet her fame forces her to dress down and shield her face with hats or masks whenever she goes out, so strangers will not recognize her. The novel describes her hair as black rather than brown.

Warm and easy to like, Soohyun gets along well with Jinho even as his goofiness occasionally wears on her. She has little patience for the self-important, and someone like Lee Minsung earns her open contempt; she genuinely enjoys watching such people get put in their place. The novel suggests she is close to her father, who guards her protectively despite her being more than capable of handling threats on her own.
