Once the living core of the first Shadow Monarch, Ashborn, this purple heart becomes Jinwoo's inheritance. It floods him with a vast reserve of mana and, after his death in battle, becomes the trigger that awakens his full sovereign power over the shadow army.
Rather than a forged artifact, this object is Ashborn's actual heart, the crystallized mind and life vessel of the very first Shadow Monarch. Inside Jinwoo's body it appears as a dim violet core, oddly seated on the right side of his chest where it pulses in tandem with his own mortal heart. Ashborn placed it there as an act of rebellion: the Architect had meant for him to seize Jinwoo as a host, yet Ashborn refused that scheme entirely, choosing to leave everything he was to a human whose fierce devotion to protecting his family had stirred him.
Awakened, the core dumps a colossal +100,000 into Jinwoo's Mana stat, effectively handing him an inexhaustible spring of magical power. From that reserve he can raise, hold, and refresh his shadow soldiers without end, never fearing exhaustion. Whenever a fearsome opponent draws near, the heart throbs with eerie violence, spiking his abilities, and beyond raw utility it marks him plainly as the True Shadow Monarch, sovereign of death.
Its most direct gift is that massive +100,000 surge of Mana delivered the instant it wakes. What it pointedly does not do is lift Jinwoo's physical strength or any base stat; it overhauls how much magic he can hold and how long he can endure, not how hard he hits. The heart's deeper purpose surfaces near the end: when Jinwoo falls in combat, it becomes the engine by which Ashborn restores him completely, letting him absorb whatever remained of Ashborn's might. It also stands as one of two prerequisites for the concealed maximum-level skill that crowns him the True Shadow Monarch, the second being his own death once the heart already resides in him.
Jinwoo gained the heart after going back to the Double Dungeon, lured there by Kandiaru so that Ashborn might inhabit his frame. Reversing the plan, Ashborn shut the Architect out of the System and instead handed the heart over, which later let Jinwoo wrest back command of himself and slay Kandiaru. In the war that followed, three Monarchs (Frost, Beast, and Plague) cornered him in Seoul, aiming to wreck his body so Ashborn could never be reborn; the Beast Monarch ran him through and silenced his human heart.
Carrying two hearts saved him. That killing wound fired the passive Black Heart ability, dragging his mind into a pocket dimension, an illusory realm that probed his will before setting him before Ashborn. There the Monarch explained that this inheritance had been restraining his boundless power until Jinwoo's mortal shell could finally give way. Given a choice between everlasting peace within that illusion and a plunge back into brutal reality, Jinwoo elected to fight. Ashborn then withdrew for good, fusing the heart with his soul; Jinwoo revived whole, cast off the System, and rose as the deathless, absolute True Shadow Monarch.

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....

Five Bleach female characters, ranked and settled. Yoruichi sits at number five, the spot nobody expects, and our number one is an Arrancar with a soft heart....
The Black Heart floods Sung Jinwoo with a +100,000 surge to his Mana stat, giving him an inexhaustible reserve to raise and refresh his shadow army without exhaustion. It does not raise his physical strength, but it later serves as the catalyst that resurrects him as the True Shadow Monarch.

No, the Black Heart pointedly does not lift Sung Jinwoo's physical strength or any base stat. It overhauls how much magic he can hold and how long he can endure rather than how hard he hits.
When the Beast Monarch ran Sung Jinwoo through and silenced his human heart, the Black Heart fired its passive ability, pulling his mind into a pocket dimension where Ashborn offered him a choice. Jinwoo chose to fight, so Ashborn fused the heart with his soul and Jinwoo revived whole as the deathless True Shadow Monarch.
