Overview

Once the Apostle of Nightmares fell, its corpse started to break apart and drift away. Unwilling to let that material go to waste, Beru collected every loose fragment and condensed the lot into a single gem. The finished crystal glows pink and registers as far cleaner and more tightly packed than even a Starpiece. While the ant shaped it, he deliberately drew out the Itarim's energy so that nothing harmful would linger inside.

Function

Sealed within the gem is the complete legacy of the Apostle of Evolution: its breakthroughs, its studies, and every experiment it ever ran. Beru had already eaten the Apostle's brain, so the thin nightmare authority left over held no value to him, doubly so because that power would lose all meaning once he and Suho departed Sirka's Dream. Rather than discard the rest, he crystallized it and offered the item to Suho, though at that moment neither of them grasped how the gem was meant to be used.

Its purpose emerged during the Ragnarok Project Arc. Suho first supplied Arsha with an Avatar body, labeled Test Subject No. 47, to serve as her vessel, then placed the seed in her hands so she could undergo evolution. Taking in both the Avatar and the gem turned Arsha into a Void Insect, granting her the power to spawn Void Insects able to cross the Dimensional Cracks linking the World Tree to Earth. Following that change, her orders were to raise a hive atop the World Tree itself.
