Edgar

Edgar is present from the very start of the series, debuting in the opening manga chapter and the first anime episode, with distinct portraits in each medium. Beyond those depictions, the reference material records no detailed account of his physical features.

Hatred of Westalis and its people defines Edgar's outlook, and he acts on it without scruple, resorting to blackmail schemes and even the abduction of a child to bend an enemy agent to his will. His one visible vulnerability is his daughter Karen: a threat against her proves enough to make him abandon the pursuit entirely.

Edgar commands an unnamed organization inside Ostania. He targets the foreign minister Anakin Heywood, secretly a backer of Westalis, with compromising photographs of the official in a hairpiece, and recovering those pictures along with their negatives becomes one of Twilight's assignments. Striking back, Edgar has Anya kidnapped as leverage meant to force the spy into his service. Twilight defeats the underlings sent to ambush him at home, trades identities with one of them, Nguyen, and walks into the hideout to pull the girl out. Having once dated Karen under the alias "Robert," Twilight ends the feud by turning her safety into a threat of his own, compelling Edgar to leave them alone for good.
