Behind every disguise stands a tall, strikingly handsome man of 187 centimeters with ruffled blond hair, often combed back to suit the occasion, and sharp, narrowed blue eyes over a lean athletic build. His true age is unrecorded, though everything about him suggests the late twenties or early thirties. As Loid Forger he favors a three-piece suit in light green worn with a red tie, a dagger-shaped pin bearing WISE's symbol fixed to the lapel, sometimes adding hats, a tan trench coat, or black gloves.

Infiltration and combat call for a different uniform: black from head to toe, with a goggle-mounted beanie, a mask over the lower face, fingerless gloves, and boots, the WISE pin still riding his chest. Which face the world sees is ultimately his choice; Ostanian intelligence has never established what the man actually looks like.

Twilight is discipline given human shape, able to wear whatever personality a mission demands while burying his real thoughts beneath the role. The boy he used to be was naive and honest to a fault, radicalized by propaganda into hating the East, and orphaned when the Second East-West War flattened his hometown. Revenge drove him into the army, but meeting the Ostanian deserter Franky Franklin and losing his childhood friends taught him that ignorance itself breeds tragedy; he emerged believing ignorance is a sin, and that gathering truth is how wars are prevented.

He treats himself as an instrument of peace rather than a person, suppressing attachment on the theory that emotion produces hesitation and hatred produces needless violence. Yet his ethics never dissolve: he kills only when unavoidable, refuses to endanger civilians, and once let a trained attack dog maul his arm rather than shoot it while defusing the bomb strapped to it. The pressure of being Westalis's best breeds punishing perfectionism, driving him to overwork until he collapses, and genuine emotion keeps leaking through the cracks of his cover life. Daily life beside Yor, Anya, and Bond steadily erodes his detachment, and he increasingly catches himself treating the fabricated Forger family as something real before forcing the thought back into mission logic.

More than a decade with WISE, preceded by wartime service that ended at the rank of sergeant, has made Twilight a complete espionage machine. His memory borders on absolute: he has recalled the names and diets of over 200 penguins from a skimmed list, learned the Ostanian intelligence manual verbatim, and catalogued Donovan Desmond's security detail mid-conversation. His thoughts move so fast that even Anya's telepathy struggles to parse them. Those faculties feed razor observation, from spotting disguised SSS agents in a crowd and reading lips across a room to detecting a forged photograph by its shadows.

As a strategist he plans layers deep, packing spare outfits for a school exam, wearing a bulletproof vest to a rigged tennis match, and seeding entire parks with traps that trained SSS officers fail to find. Disguise is his signature art, honed since childhood role-playing games; he can become a sumo wrestler despite the wrong physique and build convincing false identities for others, including a male disguise for Fiona. He shadowed Yor for a full day without the gifted assassin noticing, holds his own unarmed against her drunken onslaught, and shoots well enough to blast the straps off a bomb-rigged dog without harming it or disarm Yuri with a wounded arm.

His polymath streak sustains every cover: he passes as a practicing psychiatrist with no sign of formal medical schooling, cooks at the level of the world-class chef he once impersonated, and reached professional caliber in tennis after brief practice. In the field he carries a custom Luger-style pistol with a suppressor, has deployed a suitcase-concealed machine gun, and rounds out his kit with transmitters, listening devices, explosives, stab-resistant fabric, and a tranquilizer-dart wristwatch built by Franky.
