Dozing on the couch, Bond receives a vision of total darkness and starts hunting for its meaning, first suspecting a Project Apple scientist has come to finish him. The answer seems to arrive when Yor, out of dog food and with Loid away working, announces she will cook his dinner herself. Bond connects the black void to her cuisine and panics; refusing the meal is no option either, since Anya once told him an upset Yor is a lethal Yor. His solution: bring Loid home early so the safe cook handles dinner. The dog picks the lock and follows Loid's scent across Berlint to the Born Industries building, where Twilight is about to attempt a blind infiltration aimed at lifting a Gerrulimus sample, a newly developed truth serum. Unable to shoo the animal away, Loid assumes Bond wants payback against the company rumored to be tied to the experiments that created him, and lets him come. Bond's foresight earns its keep: he steers them down an empty route, then foresees returning staff cornering Loid in the specimen lab. His warning buys time to hide, and a planted note claiming the serum is already stolen tricks the researchers into opening the correct locker themselves before man and masked dog drop on them from above. Mission finished hours early, Bond enjoys a fresh vision of Loid at the stove and barks with joy.

In the second story, Damian sleeps through the dorm's morning muster after an all-night study binge chasing more Stellas. Henry Henderson sentences him to chore duty under the dorm mother and confines him to campus, which means missing the dorm outing to the movies. Ewen and Emile deliberately get themselves punished, loitering in sloppy uniforms until Henderson notices, so their friend will not labor alone. Watching the three boys turn chores into play, complete with bedsheet Imperial Scholar cloaks, Henderson quietly savors the elegance of young friendship, then assigns a fresh penalty for the tomfoolery: field research alongside Mr. Green, the school custos. Green hauls the frantic trio through a white-knuckle canoe run, where Damian tumbles overboard at the sight of a "waterfall," his friends leap in to save him, and all three discover the water reaches their knees. Fishing lessons follow, with earthworm bait that sends Damian fleeing, and each boy lands his own dinner. Green tells Damian that letting himself have fun now and then is permitted. The trip ends at Stella Lake, its surface mirroring the night sky so perfectly the stars seem within reach. Lying on the shore, Emile compares the sky to sugar sprinkled overhead, and Damian collapses into laughter for the first time in the episode. Back at the dorm, Henderson reviews the boys' field reports and judges Damian's far too brief.

Bond misinterprets a dark premonition as death by Yor's cooking and escapes the apartment to retrieve Loid.

Loid steals the Gerrulimus truth serum from Born Industries with Bond's precognition guiding the infiltration and averting a confrontation.

Damian's oversleeping punishment expands to include Ewen and Emile, who volunteer for trouble to stay by his side.

Mr. Green's field research trip, from the canoe scare to fishing and Stella Lake, teaches Damian to loosen his relentless self-discipline.

The episode reverses the manga's order, adapting Chapter 40 before Chapter 39, and aired in Japan on October 14, 2023.

"Kura Kura" is skipped as the opening, its credits instead rolling before the ending. The fishing lesson is scored by the insert song "Little steps," and both Mr. Green and the Cecile Hall dorm mother debut in this episode.
