Military Intelligence Special Reconnaissance Regiment

This regiment belongs to the special operations arm of Ostania's military intelligence. Its faction stationed in Frigis answers to Colonel Snidel, who regards the postwar calm between East and West as a fiction worth destroying and quietly partners with the Republic of Albo to manufacture a new war. Two weapons anchor the scheme: the battle airship Enormity, kept at the Frigis air base as Snidel's trump card, and Type F, a cyborg of tremendous power serving in the unit's ranks. After the plot collapses, SSS Lieutenant Chadwick Curtis writes the whole affair off as a military blunder.

The plan hinges on a microfilm prized by the Republic of Albo, lifted from a Westalian research laboratory after a three-year infiltration; once the film reaches Albo's hands, open war between the blocs is expected to follow. Snidel's subordinates Domitri and Luca ferry it toward Frigis posing as civilian rail passengers, the film tucked inside a chocolate truffle locked in a suitcase. The courier run collapses when young Anya Forger eats the chocolate, and the pair's move to silence her ends with her mother Yor thrashing them both. Snidel, meanwhile, executes his own operations manager upon learning the man had been feeding their plans to WISE, then orders squads through the city once he hears the microfilm has been swallowed.

Anya is seized and held aboard Enormity until the film passes through her, with Snidel eventually ordering her stomach cut open when she refuses the bathroom. Loid pursues in an antique aircraft, survives the airship's guns and guided missiles, and rams his crippled plane into the vessel, while Yor boards and starts fires that threaten the fuel system. Type F corners her in the burning helium tank section, where she finally destroys the seemingly invincible cyborg by igniting him with lipstick. Loid impersonates a lieutenant, then Snidel himself, knocks the real colonel unconscious, and commands the crew to abandon ship. The Forgers steer the blazing airship away from the city and down into Frigis Lake. The SSS dresses the wreck up as a training accident, and Twilight recovers the microfilm, found stuck between Anya's teeth, for his handler Sylvia Sherwood.

Colonel Snidel commands the Frigis faction, a gourmand confident enough to beat Loid at identifying sugars in desserts. Soldiers Domitri and Luca handle courier and muscle work, Type F serves as the secret weapon until his destruction, and the operations manager, secretly a WISE mole, dies at Snidel's hand. Troops wear olive green uniforms bearing a sand-colored diamond emblem, with red-lined trench coats issued against the northern cold. Series creator Tatsuya Endo designed the four principal members from the movie's script.
