Summary

Mission 67 of Tatsuya Endo's SPY x FAMILY was serialized in two halves, on August 22 and September 5, 2022, each running 15 pages, and belongs to the Friendship Schemes Arc in Volume 11.

At school, Anya presses Damian for the cake she insists he owes her; he denies any such promise and cites yesterday's noodle incident. Sensing his relief that she is not angling to meet his father, she pivots and announces her whole family should visit his house, then trumps Ewen and Emile's mockery by revealing that Yor now counts Melinda Desmond as a friend. Damian panics over which embarrassing preschool secrets his mother might spill, from bedwetting to his beloved stuffed animal, thoughts Anya savors before assuring him Melinda said little. He storms off after insulting her family, and Anya's protest that the Forgers are serious gets misread by Damian and Becky as romance.

Meanwhile, Berlint General Hospital adores its star psychiatrist. Loid's carefully cultivated reputation is paying off, and he briefs Fiona Frost on the next step: getting access to patients tied to Melinda now that Yor has entered her circle. Fiona's bid to play his wife is shot down in favor of support work. She then delivers the bad news: director Gerald Gorey, a status-obsessed schmoozer who personally assigns every VIP examination, envies Loid too bitterly to ever hand him one, and he also happens to be infatuated with Fiona, which convinces him Loid is a romantic rival.

Gerald's sabotage campaign unfolds farcically. Rigging Loid's schedule to make him late only earns Loid sympathetic praise for overwork. Coffee spiked with laxatives fails when Loid whips up a counteragent, and even his dash to the bathroom inspires a young patient, while trailing toilet paper somehow endears him further to colleagues. A forged love letter to Fiona gets crumpled on sight. Out of moves, Gerald phones the State Security Service and denounces Loid as an enemy agent.

Two plainclothes officers arrive, review Gerald's fabricated evidence file planted in Loid's desk, and arrest him. The cuffs come off the ruse quickly: the arresting officer is Franky, joined by Fiona, both intercepting the report at Loid's request and hamming up the performance. In front of the watching Gerald, they trace the planted documents to the hospital's lone antique typewriter, his own, and flip the accusation onto him. As the faux officers move to haul Gerald away, Loid intervenes with theatrical tears, praising him as a patriot, a superior leader, and the hospital's greatest treasure, even offering himself in Gerald's place. The overwhelmed director repents completely, gratefully accepting Loid's offer to shoulder work like the VIP examinations. Outside, Fiona keeps her costume because Loid tailored it, Franky keeps his because it looks cool, and at home Loid muses that Plan C can finally advance, sending Anya into a spiral about the true meaning of friendship.

Notes

Gerald Gorey makes his first appearance here. Following the pattern of Chapters 58 and 62, the volume edition fuses both installments into one chapter, and Episode 43 handles the anime adaptation.

Part 1's cover gathers the Eden children, Anya, Damian, Becky, Ewen, and Emile, while Part 2's cover features Fiona and Franky in their disguises. The stuffed animal in Damian's remembered secrets resembles Poka, mascot of the idol group Hinatazaka46.
