Research Mission

Cast as proxies for Tatsuya Endo's research abroad, Loid, Yor, Anya, and Bond explore London together. Fox Primary School is the first stop, prompting the family to remark on how different the environment feels from a Japanese school. Anya gamely attempts one of the school's exams, understands none of it, and moves along. A drive through the city carries them past Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and other famous sights.

The park circuit follows, with Anya bouncing between Regent's Park, Hyde Park, and Holland Park until Loid objects that the trip cannot consist entirely of playtime. Determined to gather proper espionage material, he steers everyone toward the SIS Building where MI6 operates. Unable to locate any entrance, the family skulks around the structure searching for a way inside, and the moment security officers ask to see passports, the Forgers sprint for it.

The Forgers stand in for the author on a London research excursion. Anya tries and abandons a Fox Primary School test, the family cruises past the capital's monuments, and a tour of three major parks gets cut short by Loid. Their casing of MI6's headquarters ends in flight when security confronts them.

Listed as Chapter 98.1, the extra fills just three pages between Chapters 98 and 99. Its conceit is openly metafictional: Endo was staying in London when it released, and the chapter dramatizes his actual research trip. The cover art gathers the whole Forger household, Bond included.
