He cut a huge, menacing figure whose grooming had plainly been let go. Pale strands were combed back across his head, and only a thin scatter of hair clung to his broad chin.

Personality

Control defined him. He dominated Karao entirely and showed almost no concern for anyone else's survival, his own family included. Whenever it suited his interests, he was willing to hand a relative over to danger or to hold that threat over their heads for his own gain.

History

Karao later described this man to Tooru Mutsuki as heartless and belittling. Unable to secure food, the father killed Karao's mother, then took the boy off to raise him in near-total seclusion, deliberately far from other people. He once vanished for more than a month, leaving Karao to fend for himself. Learning after his return that his son had been mixing with humans, he lashed out, wounded the boy, and walked away. That same night he crept back while Karao slept and killed Minomi, a friend who had been staying in their tent. In response, Karao took his father's life. The account first surfaces in the seventy-eighth chapter of Tokyo Ghoul:re.
