Mari Hirano is a human fashion model from the Tokyo Ghoul novels and the older sister of Mai Hirano. Her life is cut short when she becomes one of the ghoul Rize Kamishiro's victims, a killing that later draws others into a search for the truth behind her death.
Mari earns a living as a fashion model, a career built on her public image, yet the surviving accounts stop short of detailing her actual looks. Nothing describes her hair, coloring, or figure. She is remembered chiefly through her profession and through the family bond with her younger sister rather than by any recorded portrait.
Little of Mari's temperament is documented. What comes across instead is how readily she trusts those around her, since she considers Yuuri Akanuma a genuine friend and travels to visit her without a hint of suspicion. That misplaced faith proves fatal, as the people closest to her harbor intentions she never sees coming.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

There are no women on Namek. That isn't an oversight, it's the biology. Why we handed Piccolo the one thing his own species rules out, and why it had to be trap soul....
Mari counts Yuuri Akanuma among her friends, never realizing that Yuuri secretly means to betray and devour her. On the trip to see Yuuri in the 11th Ward, Mari is instead slain by Rize Kamishiro, whose appetite claims her. Her body is left in a park near the shoreline, where it is later found by Usu, who tidies the remains and scolds Rize for overeating. Hoping to clear Rize of that charge, Kazuichi Banjou and the Gas Masks look into the killing, and during their inquiry they meet Mai Hirano, Mari's younger sister, who is handing out flyers in a frantic hunt for her missing sibling.
