Masami Umeno, nicknamed Gorimi, is a Rank 2 Ghoul Investigator in Tokyo Ghoul:re who serves first in the Hirako Squad and later the Itou Squad. Rough on the surface but warmer underneath, he meets his end during the operation to bring down the powerful ghoul Noro.
A scar sits below Masami's left eye, a mark on an otherwise imposing figure. He stands tall and carries a heavy, thickset build, and he keeps his dark hair clipped short and combed back off his forehead. The overall effect suits the gruff reputation he tends to project among the other investigators.
Toward competing squads, and the Quinx in particular, Masami comes off as surly and standoffish. That hard exterior is not the whole story, though. He is among the earliest to congratulate Mutsuki after the young investigator's double promotion, even using his nickname, a gesture that reveals a more modest and friendly streak beneath the bluster.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

There are no women on Namek. That isn't an oversight, it's the biology. Why we handed Piccolo the one thing his own species rules out, and why it had to be trap soul....
Masami first turns up when Tooru Mutsuki bumps into him in a corridor, earning the rookie a sharp glare followed by insults and some gossip about the Quinx Squad. When Haise Sasaki loses control of his powers, Masami backs up his colleagues in subduing him, then waits on standby. He takes part in the Auction raid, where his squad runs into the Clowns Uta and Roma Hoito. Roughly half a year after an award ceremony, he seeks Mutsuki out to admit he had misjudged him and to say he expects impressive results ahead. During the Rose extermination he joins the Quinx in clearing ghouls until they reach Noro. Stationed on the front line beside his squad leader Itou, he is killed instantly when Noro's kagune drives straight through him to reach Nezu. His quinque, Buru, is a bikaku-type rated B and takes the form of a long sword comparable to Tsunagi.
