Hachikawa Squad

Hachikawa Squad ranked among the investigative units of the CCG, taking its name from its leader, Chuu Hachikawa. Whether it still exists as a formal team is uncertain, yet investigators who once served in it continue to be seen working together.

During the Owl Suppression Operation the squad joined forces with Hirako Squad under Hachikawa, forming Squad 3. Together they clashed with the Black Dobers and then the Black Dog, Kaya Irimi, gaining the upper hand until Centipede broke in and stopped them from finishing her. Hachikawa cracked a rib in the exchange and was briefly left without his quinque after Kaneki shattered it. The unit later assembled on the rooftop where the Owls were confronted, holding position as Koori Ui, Take Hirako, and Kishou Arima faced the One-Eyed Owl.

Sent afterward to probe Rushima and confirm Aogiri Tree's foothold there, the squad stumbled onto a gathering of senior Aogiri figures and overheard Eto Yoshimura deny being the One-Eyed King. Once Owl spotted them, they attempted to slip off the island but were run down by Seidou Takizawa, Shikorae, and other Aogiri fighters. The battle claimed Hachikawa's life and wounded Ayumu. While the survivors hid in a cave, Torso ambushed them and seized Tooru Mutsuki. Ayumu Hogi alone got clear, carrying word of the ambush and Aogiri's presence back to the CCG, which set the Rushima Landing Operation in motion.

Ayumu Hogi held the post of Deputy Squad Leader. The founder and commander, Chuu Hachikawa, died in the field, as did two unnamed investigators. Tooru Mutsuki once served here on loan before moving to Suzuya Squad and eventually abandoning the CCG.
