Summary
Kaneki reasons that the Gourmet grabbed Kimi purely to draw him close. Despite his grave wounds, Nishiki Nishio drags himself to Anteiku hunting for her, then insists on coming along once he learns Tsukiyama is the culprit, saying rest would be impossible otherwise.
Inside the estate the pair discover Kimi bound and ringed by candles on what looks like a makeshift altar. Nishiki erupts, vowing to keep the Gourmet away from her. Tsukiyama lays out his design: Kimi will season the meal while he consumes Kaneki at peak freshness, feeding on the young ghoul even as Kaneki is made to feed on her. Branded a deviant, Tsukiyama instead pins the blame on Kaneki for provoking such appetite.
Nishiki's charge ends with him hurled aside, and Kaneki, whose fighting is likened to a fledgling's unsteady stumbling, cannot hold his own. The Gourmet overpowers him, only to be caught off guard by a sudden blow from Touka Kirishima.
