:re Chapter 163

Ken Kaneki walks the shattered streets of Tokyo and remembers the moments after regaining consciousness. Every ally but Hideyoshi Nagachika had been stunned to see him awake. Kimi Nishino told him his body was inexplicably sound, and Kaneki noticed his blurred vision and headaches had vanished, suggesting that devouring the Oggai pushed his lifespan forward. Kimi and Nishiki Nishio brief him on the fresh alliance between the CCG and Goat, and Koutarou Amon credits Hide with uniting the two sides. Kaneki says he wants to find Hide and survey the city, while Urie insists he stay under watch and Kimi confirms he is not directly driving the rising ROS cases.

In the present, Kaneki roams the city with Urie and Saiko Yonebayashi trailing him. Urie recalls their time together during the Haise Sasaki days and warns that brooding alone accomplishes nothing. The group notices the power failing around them. Saiko senses a ghoul, and Urie moves to intercept, only to find Ruisawa. On a nearby screen, Nimura Furuta suddenly appears posing as a live newscaster, announcing that he will try to make contact with one of the Dragon's golems.

Kaneki learns that eating the Oggai seems to have advanced his lifespan and cleared his vision and headaches. He hears that Hide forged the CCG and Goat alliance. Kimi rules him out as the direct source of the ROS surge. Ruisawa is mistaken for a hostile ghoul, and Furuta hijacks a broadcast to address the Dragon's golems.
