With Juuzou Suzuya lying motionless at her feet, Kurona Yasuhisa cannot understand why his squad refuses to grieve. She assumes their composure proves that their leader meant nothing to them, and she keeps taunting them even as their coordinated strike takes both of her arms.

The mockery backfires instantly. Juuzou, very much alive and clad in the Arata Joker armor, springs the trap and tears her limbs apart. Kurona regenerates and shapes a clawed kagune to retaliate, yet every advance leaves her cut open again. Once she has been reduced and forced to run, Juuzou tells Keijin Nakarai not to worry, reasoning that an opponent who retreats from you a second time has already lost. The group then sets off to link up with Houji's forces, who are locked in combat with Tatara.

Far from that clash, tears pour down Seidou Takizawa's face as he clamps a hand around Akira Mado's throat and demands to know what it is she actually wants.

Kurona's belief that she has slain Juuzou proves false when he reappears wearing the Arata Joker and dismembers her. She manifests a claw-shaped kagune but is outmatched and driven off after losing her limbs. Juuzou frames her double retreat as a guarantee of defeat, and Suzuya Squad moves to reinforce Houji Squad against Tatara. In a separate scene, a sobbing Seidou seizes Akira Mado by the neck.

The installment ran in Weekly Young Jump issue 2016-36, dated August 4, 2016, and later appeared in the ninth collected volume of the sequel series. Its Japanese title reads Iya na ko. The chapter contrasts Kurona's isolated overconfidence with Seidou's emotional unraveling, underscoring how the Rushima battle strips away the characters' composure.
