In Kanou's lab, Nishiki Nishio pins the doctor with his kagune and announces that his hunt for Aogiri has finally paid off. Kurona Yasuhisa, unfamiliar with the newcomer, weighs whether Nishiki means to kill Kanou, who abruptly orders his Quinx to cut him down. Nishiki kicks the charging Quinx apart while ridiculing Kanou's creations, but Shikorae severs his kagune and Okahira snatches the freed doctor before he hits the floor. Nishiki tries to give chase and is impaled by Roma Hoito's kagune, and she reveals she is aiding Kanou at Souta's request.
Meanwhile Tooru Mutsuki leaps and fires his kagune at Seidou Takizawa but misses. Seidou grabs one strand and runs it through Mutsuki's midsection, only for Mutsuki to fling blood into his face, throwing off his aim. Mutsuki then kicks Seidou in the groin, drops him, pins him with his kagune, and crushes his testicles. Telling Akira Mado they may have an opening, Mutsuki moves to finish Seidou, but Akira dives in and is torn open in his place, saving him.
Tsukiyama engages Koori Ui and reveals mutual debts with him. In Kanou's lab, Nishiki captures Kanou but is rescued against by Shikorae, Okahira, and Roma Hoito, who acts on Souta's orders. Mutsuki pins and mutilates Seidou and prepares to kill him, but Akira Mado sacrifices herself, taking the strike to shield Seidou.
