Summary

Kuki Urie sizes up the chaotic scene he has walked into. Noting that Mutsuki is unharmed and Amon has slipped free of Ginkui, he sorts out his priorities as Mutsuki briefs him on the destruction of Houji Squad and Akira Mado's breach of the Ghoul Countermeasures Law. Trying to weigh both sides and admitting Tooru acted rashly, Urie decides to press the attack and directs the Quinx Squad with a tactic borrowed from Arima Squad. He baits Amon into using his kagune, opening a lane for Ching-Li Hsiao's kick and Shinsanpei Aura's stab to the back, which cues Touma Higemaru to strike from the front. When Saiko Yonebayashi's turn comes, Higemaru has crowded in too close, collapsing the formation and taking Amon's counter. Shinsanpei blocks a blow only to have his kagune crushed and his leg severed against the ground.

At Akira's side, Amon tells Seidou Takizawa his original aim and instructs him to carry Akira away to meet his friend. He tosses Seidou his silver cross necklace, and Seidou, understanding, chooses Yumitsu Tomoe to accompany him and takes Akira as his supposed hostage. Urie overhears without grasping the meaning before Amon and the Quinx resume fighting.

Roma Hoito mocks Nishiki Nishio as he battles the Aogiri Quinx outnumbered, enraging him into slicing through them. She suddenly appears in his face but is caught off guard herself when Shikorae calls out, and Kurona Yasuhisa's kagune skewers Roma into the air. Kurona resolves to chase Akihiro Kanou alongside Nishiki. Elsewhere, Tsukiyama and Koori Ui trade blows, Naki's shouted sneak attack is blocked, and the Itou Squad rotates so Takeomi Kuroiwa takes over directly. When Kuramoto Itou moves against Tsukiyama from the side, a stranger wearing a Black Dobers mask blocks him, and the two seem to recognize each other while another unknown figure looms behind.
