History
From an early age Hallgerd trained at swordplay alongside Sigurd, and she seems to have harbored a strong crush on him since childhood. In time she becomes his sole wife once he comes back to Iceland after the fighting in the Baltic. During their voyage away from the island she gives birth to a son, Njall, and it is that birth, following advice from Asrid, that prompts the couple to turn back toward Iceland. Sigurd's boyhood pet name for her was simply Hall.
