Plmk

Plmk is a young man of the Lnu, dark-haired and built for the chase. He carries the vigor of youth in both his frame and his movement, a physical restlessness that matches the lively energy running through his character.

Energetic and quick to act, Plmk brims with youthful boldness. He holds a firm belief that a bear spirit watches over him, the memory of an encounter from childhood, and that conviction leaves him willing to take risks others would shy from. The recklessness has a counterweight, though: when he hunts, he turns careful and deliberate. The iron blade and unfamiliar food the Europeans offer fascinate him, feeding his appetite for anything new.

Plmk makes his entrance in Chapter 183 as Thorfinn's group meets the region's natives for the first time. Rather than treat the strangers as enemies, he befriends them and begins trading know-how across the cultural divide. He stays woven into the story through its closing stretch, appearing as late as Chapter 220. A concept note printed in the final volume frames him as a young Mi'kmaq hunter and warrior, spirited and daring yet prudent on the hunt.
