Once a fighter in Askeladd's warband and the older sibling of Atli, Torgrim carried the group's usual contempt for Christians into battle. A single clash with the giant Thorkell shattered him mentally, and the man who walked away from that fight was never the same again.
Green eyes and a heavy build define Torgrim across both stretches of the story. In his earlier days he wore his blond hair short, paired with a darker-blond mustache and goatee, and favored a teal outfit over grey trousers and brown boots. Years later his look shifts: the hair grows out long, the goatee fills in, and he trades the old clothes for chainmail.
He shares the scorn that runs through the rest of Askeladd's crew toward anyone who follows the Christian faith. That earlier self does not survive the war, though. After coming face to face with Thorkell, Torgrim collapses into a breakdown, loses his memories, and regresses until his manner is closer to that of a small child.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

There are no women on Namek. That isn't an oversight, it's the biology. Why we handed Piccolo the one thing his own species rules out, and why it had to be trap soul....
Alongside his brother Atli, Torgrim ranked among the handful of men who lived through the fighting against Thorkell. Witnessing the warrior in full force on the field was too much for him, and the sight tipped him into a state of shock that left lasting psychological wounds.
Broken and no longer fit for a raider's life, he parts ways with Askeladd's band. In the aftermath he settles in under his brother's care, the two of them living together once the war is behind them.
After coming face to face with Thorkell the Tall in battle, Torgrim suffers a complete mental breakdown, losing his memories and regressing to a childlike state. He leaves Askeladd's band afterward and lives under the care of his brother Atli.

Yes, Torgrim is the older brother of Atli, and the two live together after Torgrim leaves the life of a raider behind.
Torgrim physically survives his clash with Thorkell the Tall, but the encounter leaves him with a lasting mental breakdown; he is one of only a handful of men who lived through the fighting.
Before his breakdown, Torgrim wore his blond hair short with a darker-blond mustache and goatee, and dressed in a teal outfit with grey trousers and brown boots. Years later, his hair grew long, his goatee filled in, and he wore chainmail instead.
