The Doctor and the Bomb

Over dinner at Suno's house, Android 8 presents Goku with the Two-Star Dragon Ball, which he found in an ice cave near Muscle Tower but withheld from General White to protect the villagers. Goku is happy but disappointed it is not his grandfather's Four-Star Ball. Eighter admits he cannot stay in the village because of the bomb inside him, so Suno recommends they visit Dr. Flappe, a scientist who can also attempt to repair Goku's broken Dragon Radar.

Murasaki's Revenge

As Goku, Suno, and Eighter set off through the snow, Ninja Murasaki crawls from the rubble of Muscle Tower, swearing revenge. He trails them through the wilderness, falling through ice, getting buried in snowballs, and failing spectacularly in a bear costume disguise. His pursuit is equal parts menacing and pathetic.

Operation at Flappe's

At Dr. Flappe's house, the doctor recognizes Eighter but seems troubled by memories of his past work. While Flappe prepares to remove the bomb, Murasaki sneaks inside and takes Suno hostage, forcing the doctor to steal Goku's bag. Goku chases Murasaki on his snowmobile, using a Bending Kamehameha to trigger an avalanche that buries the ninja. Back at the house, Flappe carefully removes the bomb from Eighter. He admits the Dragon Radar is too advanced for him to fix, so Goku decides to visit Bulma instead. As they leave, Goku tosses the extracted bomb away. It lands on the snow-buried Murasaki and detonates, ending the ninja's pursuit with a literal bang.

Snow Day Gone Wrong

The journey to Dr. Flappe is a comedy highlight of the arc. Murasaki's disguise as a bear, his fall through the ice that Eighter cracked, and his snowball tumble into a tree form a running gag that builds with each failure. The fearsome ninja from Muscle Tower is reduced to a bumbling stalker.

The Bending Kamehameha

Goku's use of a Bending Kamehameha to trigger an avalanche demonstrates his growing creativity with the technique. Rather than aiming directly at Murasaki, he curves the blast into the mountainside, showing tactical thinking beyond his years.

Flappe's Guilt

The episode's most intriguing moment comes after Goku and friends leave, when Dr. Flappe mutters to himself about nearly revealing that he was the one who installed the bomb in the first place. This quiet confession adds moral complexity to a character who otherwise appears helpful and kind.

A Plot Hole is Born

This entire episode is anime-exclusive, with no corresponding manga chapter. Dr. Flappe's existence created a significant continuity issue when the Androids Saga later established Dr. Gero as the sole creator of the Red Ribbon Army's androids. Supplementary materials eventually reconciled this by stating Flappe assisted Gero in Android 8's creation.

This is also the final episode to use the original "Goku and Oolong" eyecatchers that had been present since the very first episode of Dragon Ball, marking a quiet visual milestone for the series.
