The explosion is visible from the hospital window, and with it goes their only known means of reaching Namek. The room falls silent as everyone processes the setback.

Hope arrives in an unexpected form. Mr. Popo, Kami's loyal attendant, appears at the hospital with critical information. He knows of another spaceship, the Namekian vessel that carried the young Kami to Earth centuries ago. It rests in Yunzabit Heights, a desolate chain of islands where Kami spent his early years. If the ship still functions, it could carry them to Namek.

Bulma and Mr. Popo travel to Yunzabit Heights on his magic carpet, finding the ancient Namekian ship exactly where he described. The craft is remarkably well-preserved, its alien technology still operational after centuries of disuse. The challenge is its interface: the ship responds only to voice commands spoken in the Namekian language. The entrance code turns out to be the word "Piccolo," a bittersweet reminder of the friend they are trying to resurrect.

Bulma, ever the genius engineer, converts the ship's voice recognition system to accept Earth languages within a few weeks. Gohan and Krillin volunteer to accompany her on the journey, leaving Goku behind to recover from his injuries. The trio boards the ship at Kame House, surrounded by friends and family wishing them well, and blasts off into space. The journey to Namek has officially begun.

The departure for Namek represents a significant expansion of Dragon Ball's scope. For the first time, the story moves beyond Earth entirely, launching its characters into an interstellar adventure with no guarantee of what they will find. The shift from martial arts tournament arcs and earthbound battles to deep space travel signals a new era for the franchise.

Bulma's role as the group's technological backbone is on full display here. Without her ability to reverse-engineer alien technology, the trip to Namek would be impossible. She may not fight, but her contributions are consistently indispensable to the team's survival.
