History
Paninya introduces the Elric brothers and Winry to Ridel's household in the eighteenth chapter of the manga, guiding them there to meet Dominic. Trouble strikes when Satella goes into labor ahead of schedule. Dominic sets out to fetch a physician, only to find that a lightning strike has wrecked the bridge leading into town. With no doctor within reach, Winry takes charge and safely brings the baby into the world.
The 2003 anime drops this delivery entirely, reworking the moment around Gracia Hughes giving birth to Elicia instead. As a result Ridel, Satella, and their child never appear in that version, and Dominic is left without any mentioned family.
