Dominic rushes off to bring back a doctor but cannot return in time, leaving a briefly panicked Winry to act as Satella's midwife, drawing on medical texts she had studied as a child to complete the delivery.
In the 2009 anime, Edward fumbles to warn Winry that the baby is coming; she cries out at first, then steadies herself and helps deliver the child alongside Paninya and Ridel, while the Elrics wait outside in prayer and Dominic braves a storm to find help.
