Summary

Right after Kanzaki takes down Okajima and Chiba, Karma anticipates her hiding spot and eliminates her, then takes charge of the red side. He assigns Mimura to scouting and hands Terasaka's crew a defensive post. Away from the action, the already-defeated Kataoka and Takebayashi sit with Korosensei and explain their intentions, which exposes why Karma pruned Takebayashi so early: the boy had been assembling an airborne charge meant to rain paint down onto the whole red team from above, a threat Karma refused to leave standing.

Key Events

Acting on Karma's orders, Hazama drives into blue ground and knocks out Sugino and Fuwa before she herself is tagged. Okano then removes Kurahashi with quick close-range work and lines up a shot on Kayano, only for Kimura to eliminate Kayano first. Spotting Hara standing alone and seemingly defenseless, both Okano and Kimura rush in to finish her, and both are snared by the trap she had waiting, ending their runs together.

With his squad suddenly shrinking, Karma admits they let overconfidence get the better of them. Nakamura steps up and braces herself for the next clash.

Notes

The chapter reinforces Karma's read on the battlefield: cutting Takebayashi down before the aerial device could deploy proves entirely warranted. It runs in Volume 17 between Killers' Time and Time for a Fierce Battle.
