Appearance

Rod Reiss's features repeat plainly in his eldest son: the same dark, unruly hair and the same bright eyes. Urklyn is tall, still in his late teens when he dies, and at family gatherings he dresses as the Reiss men customarily do, a pale robe layered over a dress shirt and dark trousers.

Personality

The manga shows Urklyn only in glimpses and never in conversation. He keeps a composed silence through the succession rite that claims his uncle's life, then joins the family's rush to gather Frieda once her transformation ends. His last recorded act is stretching a hand toward his father as Grisha Yeager's Titan closes its grip on him.

History

In 842 Urklyn stands with most of the family beneath the Reiss Chapel to witness the transfer of the First King's power, watching as Frieda's Titan form devours their uncle Uri; of the siblings, only Florian is absent. Once Frieda emerges from the Titan's body, he hurries with the others to collect her.

In 845, on the night Wall Maria is breached, Grisha Yeager invades the chapel, transforms into a Titan, and slaughters nearly the entire Reiss line. Rod, who escapes, later recounts that Urklyn died crushed inside Grisha's grip, one hand stretched toward his father.
