Jötunn

A horde of jötnar advances after slaughtering and devouring numerous humans and stripping their settlements for war gear, carrying looted shields, houses, armor, and religious relics into battle. Griffith sends apostles to meet the giants head-on while leading a spearmen charge, and the human forces of Falconia pound the enemy with cannon fire from a distance. In the thick of it, Sonia reaches out telepathically to warn a distracted Mule of a hurled boulder, saving his life. She then tells Griffith that the jötnar leader stands atop a hill on the eastern flank and that a route to him lies open, though she senses an ominous od beyond that eastern rise.

Griffith takes the open path with a handful of band members to face a far larger giant. The jötnar leader answers by ordering his underlings to unleash a massive hydra on the group. Zodd throttles and tears the heads from the beast while Irvine supports him with arrows from afar, and Grunbeld lands the killing blow by scorching the hydra with his fiery breath. Riding up on Grunbeld's back, Griffith leaps from his horse and drives his blade through the right eye of the jötnar leader.

The installment showcases the reborn Band of the Falcon's coordinated tactics in the world of Fantasia. It ran across two parts of Young Animal in 2018.
