Dondochakka Birstanne

Dondochakka is a bulky, ungainly figure, his stout body ending in stubby limbs with tiny white hands and feet. A hooded yellow bodysuit scattered with black polka dots covers him. His head is enormous, nearly the size of the rest of him, and unusually his Hollow mask sheathes the whole thing, its eyes and mouth working as if they were his actual face. The mask reads like an exaggerated tiki carving, loud with big eyes, prominent teeth, and a jutting nose.

Menacing as he looks, Dondochakka is a soft touch who bursts into tears at the smallest upset, above all when he frets over Nel. He is slow on the uptake, once resolving to chase after Nel only to blunder off after Renji instead, never noticing that Pesche had wandered away. He takes great pride in the polka dots on his back and bristles whenever anyone dismisses them as mere spots.

Dondochakka once ranked as the 42nd Arrancar in Aizen's forces, serving with Pesche as Fraccion to Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck. Their loyalty was turned against them when Nnoitra Gilga and Szayelaporro Granz ripped off their masks and used them to lure Nel into a trap; Nnoitra then cracked Nel's own mask and hurled all three from the dome of Las Noches. They survived, but Nel had shrunk into a childlike form with no memory of her power. Determined that she never fight again, Dondochakka and Pesche altered their looks, buried her past, and posed as her brothers while quietly training to keep her safe.

He resurfaced chasing a frightened Nel across the sands, only for Ichigo's group to mistake him for a threat. Once the misunderstanding cleared, the trio tagged along into Las Noches. Separated from the others, he stumbled into a pit that dropped him before Szayelaporro, where he was swept into the Espada's cloning battle against Renji, at one point nearly striking the real Renji instead of a copy. Sensing that Nel had begun to fight, he and Pesche resorted to their true strength, spitting out his hidden ally Bawabawa and a kanabo stored in his stomach and combining their Ceros into the far stronger Cero Sincretico. Szayelaporro exploited a seam in the joined blast and split it harmlessly, and only Mayuri Kurotsuchi's arrival saved the group.

Sturdy Hierro and deceptive strength make him tougher than his clumsy manner suggests. Later, when the Wandenreich seized Hueco Mundo, he was among the Arrancar carried off, and he turned up again in Urahara's company as the war unfolded.
